Mr and Mrs S were looking to clear their outstanding interest only mortgage that was due to mature and to borrow additional funds to help their daughter onto the property ladder.  

Leaving an inheritance was important to them so they opted to make interest payments back to protect the equity left in the property with a view to stopping payments when Mr S finished work in the future.
